SCULPTURE BY THE SEA
Bondi Beach, Sydney 2006
"Line Honours" is a site specific installation
of five components which relate to, and interact with the environment
sight lines and order play a part in encouraging the viewer to see
the work come together at specific points in relation to the environment.
Shape, texture, colour, surfaces and
location are all important to this sculpture - they are primarily
coastal objects reminiscent of wind, oceans, beaches and cliffs
but at secondary level they embody the energy of composition.
Whn the components are viewed from differing
angles in relation to the layout of the forms it is then that
the canted, wind driven, forward thrusting shapes take on
the energy of the dash for the finish, the quest for 'Line
Honours'.
